Surrogacy and adoption, both are very much related to couples of same-sex or couples suffering from either some cases of infertility or health challenges that make pregnancy difficult. There are thousands of couples all over the world who wants to have a child but cannot have one due to some medical issues. Some of the societies have a mind-set that these health issues are only related to the women, but the fact is both the men or the women can have a 50% chance to be the reason of not being able to have a child. What should people do in such medical issues?
Initially people opt for several kinds of treatments and medicine as per the diagnosed problem in either of the two partners or may be both. Many people goes for in-vitro fertilization which has a very rare chance to become successful. Finally doctors, family as well as the inner thought of the couple suggests for either surrogacy or adoption. Now, there are several people who goes for commercial surrogacy.
However, we must know that
surrogacy is a very expensive process. In fact, adoption is a fraction of the cost of a surrogacy. The surrogate mother has to be paid really high in order to have a baby from her. What can be the main reason for a couple choosing surrogacy over adoption despite of surrogacy being highly expensive?
Yes, it is the emotion and the greed of the couple to have a baby who is genetically and biologically connected to either of them or both. Some couples might fear that providing an adopted child with the exact amount of love and care that would have been provided to a child having genetic connection with them might be difficult for them in the long run. Whereas, some couples just wishes to experience a baby’s growth from the first day of its existence following all the process of its birth. Maximum of the couples goes for surrogacy because it is more certain, and the intended parents have much more control over the process than in an adoption. Adopted parents have no control over the prenatal environment of the child and might have less knowledge of the child’s medical history as compared to a surrogate baby which actually makes the couple insecure and feel more inclined towards surrogacy.
But then what about adoption? Can we even count that how many innocent children are in intense need to have parents and a good life? A life where they can regard someone as their parent, a life filled with happiness, care, love and respect? So, it indeed has always been found to be one of the most toughest decision and one of the most toughest dilemma in a person’s life. It is really tough to prove one between both the ways to be perfect against the other.
However, couples who cannot have a child and goes for adoption, is probably the most wonderful decision a person can take, to not only take a step for experiencing a life changing journey on the path of parenthood but also in providing a needy soul with something called ‘life’ in true meaning.
Adoption of a child is the wonderful decision one can make towards saving the earth as the growing population will be or already is the biggest threat.
